This research aims to determine the effectiveness of three treatments of learning models, i.e. project based learning based on mind maps, project based learning using the concept map, and conventional learning method on mastery the concept of environmental science course. Research was done at Universitas Lancang Kuning Peknbaru. Research method was a quasi experiment with pretest and posttest design. The participants were second semester students of Biology Education in academic year 2014 and 2015, consisting of three classes. Class B was the experiment 1 (20 students), Class B was experiment 2 (23 students), and class C was control (20 students). The cognitive knowledge of students was tested by assessment of cognitive test (C1-C6). Data was normal and homogeneous. Data analysis was analysis covariat (anacova) and the least significant difference (LSD). The results showed that the treatments significantly influenced the concept mastery. The ability of mastery of the concept of a student who study with project based learning using mind map was (81,17 ± 12,72) or not differ significantly with the concept map based-project based learning (78,84 ± 12,29) (P = 0,521) and conventional learning. There are significant differences between the mastery of the concept of (67,00 ± 10.8) (P = 0.00). Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that Concept Map based- Project based learning is more effective than other treatments

Pengaruh Struktur Kepemilikan Terhadap Manajemen Laba (Earnings Management) (Conflict Agency Type 1) Pada Perusahaan Yang Listing Di Bei

This research aims to investigate the effect of managerial ownerships, institutional ownerships and public ownerships components to earnings management on the companies that listed in Indonesian Stock Exchange. Data is used in this research is secondary data from monetary data in Indonesian Stock Exchange. The sample method used was purposive sampling. From the all of companies listed in the Indonesian Stock Exchange, research sample counted 80 companies that meet criteria. Hypothesis testing is done by using multiple linear regression analysis. The result of this research based on hypothesis test show that managerial ownerships does not have significant effect with earnings management, while institutional ownerships and public ownerships have significant effect with earnings management. The magnitude of the effect (Adj R-Square) of managerial ownerships, institutional ownerships, and public ownerships on earnings management was 1,6%. While the remaining 98,4% is influenced by other variables

Autothermal reforming of palm empty fruit bunch bio-oil: thermodynamic modelling

    Get PDF
This work focuses on thermodynamic analysis of the autothermal reforming of palm empty fruit bunch (PEFB) bio-oil for the production of hydrogen and syngas. PEFB bio-oil composition was simulated using bio-oil surrogates generated from a mixture of acetic acid, phenol, levoglucosan, palmitic acid and furfural. A sensitivity analysis revealed that the hydrogen and syngas yields were not sensitive to actual bio-oil composition, but were determined by a good match of molar elemental composition between real bio-oil and surrogate mixture. The maximum hydrogen yield obtained under constant reaction enthalpy and pressure was about 12 wt% at S/C = 1 and increased to about 18 wt% at S/C = 4; both yields occurring at equivalence ratio Φ of 0.31. The possibility of generating syngas with varying H2 and CO content using autothermal reforming was analysed and application of this process to fuel cells and Fischer-Tropsch synthesis is discussed. Using a novel simple modelling methodology, reaction mechanisms were proposed which were able to account for equilibrium product distribution. It was evident that different combinations of reactions could be used to obtain the same equilibrium product concentrations. One proposed reaction mechanism, referred to as the ‘partial oxidation based mechanism’ involved the partial oxidation reaction of the bio-oil to produce hydrogen, with the extent of steam reforming and water gas shift reactions varying depending on the amount of oxygen used. Another proposed mechanism, referred to as the ‘complete oxidation based mechanism’ was represented by thermal decomposition of about 30% of bio-oil and hydrogen production obtained by decomposition, steam reforming, water gas shift and carbon gasification reactions. The importance of these mechanisms in assisting in the eventual choice of catalyst to be used in a real ATR of PEFB bio-oil process was discussed
